The Board met in special session on 2014 December 1 in the Board Room at the Education Centre,
meeting in public session at 7:05 p.m.The following were in attendance;

1.CALL TO ORDER-O CANADA
Director Elliottcalled the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.The meeting was opened with the playing of O
Canada.
2.APPROVAL OF AGENDA
The agenda was approved on motion of J.Bennett,seconded by R.Tisdale.
3.CONFLICTS OF INTEREST -No conflicts of interest were declared.
4.APPOINTMENT OF FIRST NATIONS TRUSTEE
Director Elliott reported that the Board received correspondence from Munsee-Delaware Nation and
Oneida Nation of the Thames supporting the recommendation of Philip Schuyler as the Native Trustee
for the term December 2014 to November 2018 as the First Nations representative.
The following recommendation was moved by S. Polhill,seconded by R.Campbell and CARRIED:
That Philip Schuyler be appointed the First Nations Trustee on the Thames Valley
District Schooi Board for the Term December 1,2014 to November 30,2018.
Trustee P.Schuyler took his seat at the Board table.
5.ELECTION OF OFFICERS FOR 2015
a.Election of Chair of the Board
Director Elliott presided over the election of the 2015 Chair of the Board and called for written
nominations.Trustees R.Tisdale and J.Bennett were nominated.Trustee J.Bennett declined the
nomination.Director Elliott declared R.Tisdale Chair of the Board for 2015.Chair Tisdale
assumed the chair and presided over the election ofthe Vice-Chairofthe Board.
Amotionto destroy the ballots was moved by P. Jaffe,seconded byJ. Todd and carried.

b.Election of Vice-Chair of the Board .
Chair Tisdale called for written nominations for the position of Vice-Chair of the Board for 2015.
Trustees J. Bennett, G. Hart, P. Jaffe, B.McKlnnon,S.Polhill and M.Reid were nominated.
Trustees J. Bennett, P. Jaffe, S.Polhill and M.Reid declined the nomination.Trustee G. Hartwas
absent forthe nomination.Trustee B.McKinnon accepted the nomination.ChairTisdaledeclared
Trustee B.McKinnon Vice-Chair of the Board.
A motion to destroythe ballotswas movedbyJ. Todd, seconded by R.Campbelland carried.
6.ELECTION OF INFORMATION COIWIMITTEE OF THE WHOLE OFFICERS FOR 2015
a.Eiectlcn of Information Committee Chairperson
Board Chair Tisdale presided over the election of the 2015 Information Committee of the Whole
Chair.Trustees J. Bennett, S.Polhill and M.Reid were nominated.Trustees J.Bennett and S.
Polhill declined the nomination.Trustees M.Reid accepted the nomination. Chair Tisdale declared
Trustee M.Reid Chair of the Information Committee of the Whole for 2015.
A motionto destroy the ballotswas moved byJ. Bennett,seconded byJ. Todd and carried.
b.Election of Information Committee Vice-Chairperson
BoardChairTisdale presided over the election ofthe 2015 Vice-Chairofthe Information Committee
ofthe Whole.Trustees J. Todd, J. Bennett, S.Polhill,R. Campbell, A.Morell,and J.Skinner were
nominated.Trustees J. Bennett, R. Campbell, A Morell and J.Skinner declined the nomination.
Trustees J. Todd and S.Polhill accepted the nomination. Followinga vote by secret ballot, Chair
Tisdale declared Trustees.Polhill Vice-Chair of the Information Committee of the Whole for 2015.
A motion to destroy the ballots was moved by, J. Bennett,seconded by R.Campbell and carried.
7.OFFICERS OF THE BOARD
Associate Director J. Pratt presented the report to appoint by name the Officers ofthe Board who shall
be the Director of Education,and the Board Treasurer,both of whom,along with the Chair and
Vice-Chair of the Board,shall have signing authority on behalf of the Board for the period 2014
December 01 to 2015 November 30, in accordance with Board Bylaws-Election of Chair and
Vice-Chair,section 7.9.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the following persons be appointed signing officers on behalf of the Board for the period
2014 December 01 to 2015 November 30:
Ruth Tisdale,Chair of the Board
BIN McKinnon,Vice-Chair of the Board
Laura Elliott,Director of Education
Jeff Pratt,Associate Director and Treasurer
The recommendation was moved by M. Reid,seconded by P.Jaffe and carried.
