SPECIAL BOARD MEERING

The Board met in special session on 2017 November 16 in the Governor Simcoe Room at the Education
Centre, meeting in public session at 5:03 p.m. The following were in attendance:

1. CALL TO ORDER
Board Chair M. Reid called the meeting to order at 5:03 and acknowledged the traditional territory on
which the Board meeting is held.

The meeting was opened with the playing of O Canada.
4. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
The agenda was approved on motion of Trustee B. McKinnon, seconded by Trustee P. Jaffe.
5. CONFLICTS OF INTEREST – None
6. IN-CAMERA COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE REPORT, 2017 November 14
L. Elliott advised the Committee of the Whole met in-camera on 2017 November 14 from 5:20 p.m. to
6:03 p.m. The committee discussed legal and personal matters. No conflicts of interest were
declared.
The following recommendations were moved by Trustee A. Morell, seconded by Trustee J. Todd and
CARRIED:
THAT the motions approved at the in-camera session of 2017 November 14 related
to confidential personal matters be approved.
THAT Susan Mark be appointed to the position of Superintendent of Facility
Services and Capital with the Thames Valley District School Board, effective 2018
January 8
THAT in accordance with the Independent Procedure-Promotional Practices:
Selection Procedures and Appointment of Principals and Vice Principals, the
following people be placed in the pool of candidates ready for appointment to the
position of Principal, Elementary Schools:
